BE-STEM Lounge Student Manager
Description:
BE-STEM Lounge Manager (60%)
- Responsible for the general upkeep and management of the STEM Lounge by maintaining a clean and organized space. Including, cleaning kitchenette appliances, vacuuming, disposing of trash and recycling, sanitizing desks, and organizing study supplies (i.e. pencils, textbooks, papers, etc.). Lounge Managers are also responsible for routinely monitoring supply inventory and updating marketing materials (i.e. event posters) in and around the Lounge.
Ensure a welcoming and safe STEM Lounge environment. During each shift, Lounge Managers are responsible for greeting students, answering general questions, and if applicable, participating in STEM Lounge events. For incidents of concern, Lounge Managers are responsible for notifying BE-STEM or Security Staff.
Program Outreach(20%)
- Support BE-STEM program outreach efforts, including - Tabling vents (i.e. Quarterly Club and Resource Fair), classroom visits, orientation, and NSC open house events.
- Encourage new STEM students to regularly visit the Lounge, attend upcoming events, and apply for the BE-STEM program. Lounge Managers are responsible for knowing general information on the BE-STEM program, specific inquiries can be directed to BE-STEM staff (Program Navigator, Director).
Professional Development (20%)
- Provide feedback to BE-STEM staff on Lounge function, programming, and outreach efforts.
Communicate with staff on goals and desired professional development opportunities, including event planning/facilitation, social media management, marketing design, etc.
