This page provides information on community resources that can offer legal assistance and referrals.  These organizations can address a different mix of general and specific legal issues.  This page is organized into these sections based on the type of legal services they provide: 

Neighborhood Legal Clinics

Free, limited legal advice and referrals to King County residents and Washington State residents with legal issues in King County who might otherwise have no access to the legal system. Consultations are offered by phone, some in-person appointments may be available in various locations

Northwest Justice Project

Free legal assistance for low-income individuals and families to help address housing, family safety, income security, health care, and education.

American Civil Liberties Union - Washington Information & Referral Program

Focusing on civil rights and civil liberties; provides legal information and referrals to organizations and attorneys that may be able to assist you.

Solid Ground鈥檚 Tenant Services

Legal information and referrals to low-income tenants in King County facing eviction or struggling with rental issues.

Catholic Community Services Tenant Law Center

Free legal assistance to qualifying low-income persons in Seattle facing eviction.

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP)

Direct legal services in support of immigrants, asylum-seekers and refugees, regardless of immigration status (primarily for low-income individuals).

Seattle-King County Immigrant Legal Defense Network

If you (or someone you know) are an immigrant in detention, facing deportation, or at risk because of immigration status, members of this network may be able to help you.

QLaw Foundation LGBTQ2S+ and Transgender Legal Clinics

The QLaw Foundation Legal Clinics are drop-in clinics that offer free consultation with a volunteer attorney. Attorneys help clients understand their legal problem, suggest possible options, and provide appropriate referrals. 

Fair Work Center

Provides a civil legal aid clinic for workers in employment law cases; the clinic is operated in partnership with Seattle University and the University of Washington schools of law.
